Every year at the same time, we have been going on a cycling expedition to Šumava for 15 years. At the turn of October and November, the weather is the nicest and most stable there.

The most amazing swimming in Wallachia is in the former gravel pit in Nové Hrozenkov. The advantage, in addition to clean water, is free entry. Only the parking fee is charged.
There are wooden toilets on the beach and there are also plenty of kiosks selling classic beach food such as hot dogs, langoustines and chips.

we went on bikes to Kohútka for delicious blueberry dumplings. The typical Wallachian summer still prevails, it is gloomy, it will probably rain.

It doesn't really matter if we go somewhere for a weekend, a week or three. The amount of things we take with us is constant. It's changing
only in time. While 10 years ago we had a bike bag + 1 bag per person, now we carry 1 bike bag and more bags per person.

It is practically impossible to buy a lightweight children's mountain bike, especially if it has a suspension fork and discs. Both our children struggled for years
off-road with a well-equipped but extremely heavy bike. When she has a ten-year-old biker girl

We will start the training for the trip to the sea on bikes with a sleepy ride from Boubín to Lochovice. Boubín is a hill in Šumava and Lochovice is a small village in Berounska,
where, among other things, the series Okresní přebor was filmed. And most of all, we have children there at grandma's.

After all those off-road cycling marathons (mainly no asphalt!) my girls decided that they would like to ride
to the sea. Women have an extraordinary ability to stick together (at least sometimes), so it was easy for my wife and two daughters to overrule me.
